City Calls for Muslims in Red Zones to Hold Idul Adha Prayers at Home

The Jakarta Provincial Government together with the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI), has said that all Muslims in red zones spread over 33 RWs to conduct Idul Adha prayers at home, expected to fall on July 31. 

It is instructed to people who live in red zones spread over 33 RWs

"This call aims for the common good, health and safety to prevent transmission of COVID-19," expressed Jakarta Bureau of Mental and Spiritual Education (Dikmental) Head, Hendra Hidayat, Wednesday (7/29).

City Managed to Reduce COVID-19 Red Zone in RW Areas

His party also instructed the local sub-district and urban village to supervise the red zones optimally.

"While the mass prayers, its implementation must be in accordance with health protocols such as wearing masks, carrying prayer equipment from home and maintaining physical distancing," he explained.

Additionally the Dikmental also urged qurban animal slaughtering in red zones to be relocated to green zones or animal slaughterhouses (RPH).

"As for people in green zones, we want them to adhere to health protocols by limiting the number of officers and closing locations where qurban animals are slaughtered so there are no crowds," he closed.
